Ingredients:
Crust:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp sea salt
1/2 cup powdered sugar
12 tbsp cold, diced unsalted butter
Pecan mix:
3 1/2 cups chopped pecans
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup honey
12 tbsp unsalted butter
1/4 cup heavy cream
1/4 tsp sea salt
1 tsp vanilla extract
Cooking Instructions:
Put 2 cups of all-purpose flour, half a cup of powdered sugar, quarter cup of sea salt and 12 tablespoons of cold, diced unsalted butter in a food processer and pulse until combined, you’ll see little pea-sized chunks throughout. Pour it out on a 9 x 13 baking pan lined with greased parchment paper, spread it evenly and pack with your hands. Place it in a pre-heated 350 degree oven for about 18-20 minutes until edges are golden brown. In a saucepan on medium heat combine 12 tablespoons unsalted butter, half cup of honey, three quarter cups of brown sugar, quarter teaspoon of sea salt, and quarter cup of heavy cream. Bring to a boil then reduce the heat and simmer for 2 minutes. Remove from the heat and stir in one teaspoon of vanilla and 3 ½ cups of chopped pecans, about 14 ounces. Mix until well combined. Remove the crust from the oven and pour in the pecan mixture and spread out evenly, then back into the oven for another 20-22 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool for at least 30 minutes. Cut into squares and enjoy!
